Question from Malinda :
Marc,

I did not modify the x and y. I played around with it a bit, but as you probably know, due to the thickness of the frame, there is a sort of shadow that appears on the scan along the top and bottom edge and so even if I was to increase the size of the scanned area to come closer to the edges of the frame, it would start to get into the region of that shadow and we would not get a clear image of the organism. I decided that we will just be careful and keep particles far enough away from the edge--checking our preview scans to see if anything is too close.

Malinda

Dear Malinda,
You do not have to enlarge the scanned area. As you observed, the best solution is to keep organisms at about 2 mm from the edges when you use the LARGE frame. It can be about 1mm for the NARROW one.
Best
