Calibration with OD disks Empty Calibration with OD disks

Post  Jürgen Wed Mar 18, 2009 1:23 pm

Hello,
has anyone (successfully...) done this test?
I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software problem; I did everything exactly as it is written in the manual, but I don't get the correct result.
In fact, zooscan or zooprocess ist not able to separate the disks into 2 groups. The disks are ok, I even checked them with a digital camera on a light table, analyzed the image with ImageJ and got 2 clearly separated groups. But zooscan only "sees" a number of disks with more or less randomly distributed median grey values. I made sure that the disks were not overlapping.
Hope anyone can help.

Jürgen

Calibration with OD disks Empty OD discus calibration with Zooscan

Dear Jurgen,
You probably got a CD with your system. The OD discus was done in factory prior to the delivery of the system.
In order to check your problem, can you ZIP the whole project (containing ONLY the OD scan and the background) and post it at this address: ftp://oceane.obs-vlfr.fr/pub/mp
I will check it for you. Give me the Serial Number of your system.
Remember :
- create a project for this purpose (LARGE scanning frame 1200 dpi)
- scan background
- place OD discuss
- scan sample (name it "targets") and reduce the scanning resolution to 300.
- change ESD min to 4 mm using the "Edit configuration" tool.
- convert and process your sample
- process calibration / process threshold selecting the "targets" file...
Should work !
Best
